Bag’s Take-Away:
Photographer Jonathan Gibby sends us this photo from the Occupy Wall Street protest in Los Angeles yesterday. If juxtaposing a victim of long-term homeless with marchers at yesterday’s anti-Wall St. rally in L.A. is random in some ways, the fact that people are falling into indigency as a result of the the mortgage meltdown, and the economic reality of “two America’s,” certainly isn’t. Above all, though, I would say that the photo (given the sign as its fulcrum) is a cautionary warning about really being heard.(photo: ©Jonathan Gibby caption: Protester’s march past a sleeping homeless man in Los Angeles during a protest held on Saturday. Over 1,000 people marched from Pershing Square to Los Angeles City Hall to show solidarity with the Occupy Wall St. movement.)
