Bag’s Take-Away:
I like this photo of Stacie Laughton, the first transgender woman to be elected to office in New Hampshire. Women candidates have brought about many firsts in New Hampshire electoral history but, like all women running for office, how they look matters. Yet no one is looking at Laughton in this photo. And she won.

Remember how we mentioned, the other day, how hard it was to catch an interesting pic of Mitt? This is also by Jim Wilson. He seems to have the knack.
"Mirror, mirror on the wall?"

Photogs earning it this cycle, having to work SO hard to get something good out of Mittens. Case in point: the pushy woman; the cute, unexcited kids; Mr. baseball; the viewer getting filmed; more media than fans; and “hey, you’re Mitt Romney!” via NYT slideshow

More Newt and that big scary big head thing. And that’s before he unloaded on Romney.

Bag’s Take-Away:
So much for the straight-shooter.
Getting hammered for his isolationist views on the GOP’s “when’s-the-next-war” psyche, and sensing, for the first time, his campaign is “in the game,” Team Paul lined itself up yesterday behind the cammo. Great shot, right? with the flags and the fatigues — except for the fact the soldier, by doing a political endorsement while in uniform, is clearly in violation of the Hatch Act.
In this case, the hard light and finger pointing can be read a different way. What was really violated, blown to bit, even, was something much bigger — the sense that Paul would never pander.

Bag’s Take-Away:

Did you notice, in Romney’s New Hampshire sit down with the gay vet (and disavowal of gay marriage), that the man’s husband is actually on camera for, like, 2 seconds (approximately 2:30), and that Romney — like the politician he is — actually shakes hands with the guy (about 2:36)?

(AP confirmed the man opposite was the husband)

Bag’s Take-Away:

I know I’ve been banging Mitt for his photo-ops (like the hay bale announcement, and the baby juggling in the blighted strip-mall). Not this time, though. Given his vibe as a refugee from the Sears-Roebuck catalog, a virtual throwback to the 50’s, the pancake breakfast (as if this, down to the kid’s haircuts, was shot on a set from the era) is the perfect Romney backdrop. It’s such a shame about his anger problem. Otherwise, “the look” is the perfect recession package — as comfort food.

…More syrup, honey!
