Bag’s Take-Away:
Maybe #Eastwooding stands for message mis-management? Clint needled the president last night for running around in a gas guzzling plane. Here’s Romney’s new ride, unveiled today.

Bag’s Take-Away:
The fact is, you can’t deal with the subject of Christie without also addressing his girth. He plays it up all the time (the best defense is a good offense?) and, in terms of optics, it certainly reinforces the GOP philosophy surrounding the goodness of wealth accumulation. Still, the photo of the Governor visiting the convention stage is a visual joke at his expense, a blimp-size analogy between the enormous, round, white hat — on top of an enormous head, obviously — with the enormously round politician looking in that direction. I don’t have a photo credit, by the way, but the pic originally appeared in this post at NBC’s photo blog. Perhaps, for the reasons outlined, they took it down?

Update: My bad, photo is by Josh Haner and was published by the NYT as part of its RNC daily slideshow.

Rapture meets the Third Reich? I know Ryan brings much needed energy to the Romney ticket, but really….

Guess the real subject here, though, is what happens when you insert dozens upon dozens of highly creative photographers into a no-news political extravaganza that drags on for days.

Delegates of the Republican National Convention (RNC) will convene on Aug. 27 as scheduled and then recess until Aug. 28 due to the expected arrival of Tropical Storm Isaac, said Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus.)

RNC2012: Good luck finding many references to Reagan in this years convention. (This sighting is notable for the fact the bust is being presented to The Donald at the convention at a rubber chicken luncheon by a local GOP outfit.) The problem in bringing up Reagan, besides the fact he raised taxes all those times and who needs to further stir up the Tea Party, is that Romney is such a weak figure, he immediately evaporates in comparison.

In the most every day of everyday news photos, shot illustrating story on LIBOR scandal suggests glowing terminals, fiery text scrawls, skyscrapers igniting. Like a 9/11 backstory (not to mention, a bright crimson suggestion of market meltdowns and that much frustration and anger from it.)
