Bag’s Take-Away:

Talk about working the base. It’s a whole new take on: “taking a bead on the White House.”

Bag’s Take-Away:
What do you think the thinking is behind this? That Santorum is more mature now? That doesn’t make sense, since he’s only three years older than Obama. Someone has decided that whatever youth vote is available to the GOP, it needs Santorum to be more beautiful than he is at the moment (which, if I look at these photos of him, means 20 pounds and seven to ten years younger). Maybe he needs to be a visual opposite of Romney (this I think makes more sense): younger, more vital, handsome in a less Ken Doll way.

Bag’s Take-Away:

Call it a GOP 2012 litmus test. On first pass, the idea of these portraits on display at the CPAC conference is DC is to lend as much gravitas as possible. Study the first three more closely, however, and the mouths say “I’m not getting very far here.” As for Paul, he looks too much like W.C. Fields.

Bag’s Take-Away:
The irreverence. The girth. Old Glory. At least for a day this week, it was like the Tea folks never left.
And then, is there something hyper-patriotic about hands-over-privates?

Bag’s Take-Away:
Wonderful shot by NYT’s Stephen Crowley of Santorum train wreck addressing black church.
1. God, where’s my cellphone at a time like this.
2. Hopefully, you and your friends will think twice next time about all the food stamp baiting.
3. And, it’s not even hot in here!
