It’s the picture, and backstory, we’re seeing next-to-none of in the States. On the one hand, Europe to be commended for standing up to Gaddafi at expense of opening up immigrant floodgates. On other hand, how much did Sarkozy’s need to look like a hero in taking on Gaddafi (with his fortunes flagging and elections coming up) set up possible Euro anti-immigrant backlash for years to come?
