Bag’s Take-Away:
Yes, the cover is killer all by itself. I would just add: 1. It’s still a rich white man’s world, no matter what those nabobs at Newsweek have to say. 2. Nice play on obesity and junk markets (and yeah, that goes for fast food on Main Street and the Wall Street variety, the latter gorging twice). 3. About the little bubbles coming out of the glass but also looking like white caps: the guy probably shorted the company that insured the boat. Ca-ching! 4. Nah, that wouldn’t be an oil spill.

Bag’s Take-Away:

The Economist News of the World cover is particularly evocative. Did you think “gutter” or “down the gutter” even before you read this sentence?

Bag’s Take-Away:

If you read Linkins’ take (and I love his comparison to the old Greenspan cover and the boys club double-standard), you do have to worry how much a gunky, pot-shot tableau of dripping hate is sympathetic to Elizabeth Warren vs. how much it’s a conditional way to further frame her (as long as she “sticks around”) as a primary target … and a cartoon.
