Bag’s Take-Away:
According to this GOP ad, Obama is the Most Arrogant Man in the World. Kind of funny, but not in a way that hurts Obama. What do you think?

Bag’s Take-Away:

Talk about geo-political history, mass murder and web marketing which pulls at the heartstrings. Paired with WAPO’s Joseph Kony slideshow, I encountered this ad for a “Band of Brothers” tour package hitting the emotional touchstones of the Great War for those of all religious and cultural backgrounds. The ad is a classic, isn’t it, for the way it plays on guilt and remembrance?

Here’s a snip of the ad copy:

Return to 1944 as the Allies prepare for the invasion of Europe on our Beyond Band of Brothers tours. These all-inclusive historical tours visit iconic sites such as the beaches of Normandy, the Ardennes forest and Hitler’s Eagle’s Nest. Or join our Holocaust and Central Europe tour for a challenging yet rewarding experience. The end of the 11-day Beyond Band of Brothers tour overlaps seamlessly with the beginning of the Holocaust and Central Europe tour, a unique, 19-day trip that is the ultimate World War II tour.

To really seal the deal, though, how about a stop through Uganda first?

Every night, more than 25,000 children leave their villages or camps throughout the district and walk to Gulu to escape being killed or abducted by Joseph Kony’s Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA), which is waging war against the Ugandan government.)

Bag’s Take-Away:
What do you think the thinking is behind this? That Santorum is more mature now? That doesn’t make sense, since he’s only three years older than Obama. Someone has decided that whatever youth vote is available to the GOP, it needs Santorum to be more beautiful than he is at the moment (which, if I look at these photos of him, means 20 pounds and seven to ten years younger). Maybe he needs to be a visual opposite of Romney (this I think makes more sense): younger, more vital, handsome in a less Ken Doll way.

Cincy Enquirer’s shocking use of front page as FU to Obama, even if calling out politics and PR largely valid. …Can’t imagine what they left for the Op-Ed page.

David Cameron MINI photo-op comparable to recent run of Obama photo-ops with iPhone or Macbook (+ Twitter) or Facebook. Embattled leaders, themselves sold as shiny brands and now badly tarnished, swerve hard to associate themselves with/channel some cred from the hottest cultural/consumer product brands.

In this world gone “Mad (Men”), it figures.

The two millionth model of the car, symbolic of British popular culture, was a MINI Cooper convertible with special white silver metallic paint finish, blue denim roof and bespoke exterior and interior trim.)
